Tell Congress to Protect Your FSA
As Health care reform makes its way through Congress one of the big questions is how will the proposed changes be paid for. The House health care reform bill includes a ban on using FSA money to buy over-the-counter medications, and the Senate Finance Committee's version is expected to include a possible $2,000 cap on the amount of money that individuals can put aside in the accounts each year making anything over that amount subject to taxes.
This action would affect more than 35 million Americans who use employer-sponsored benefit programs like flex spending accounts to help pay for medical, dental and vision expenses.
